Garmin Ride Out is a unique cycling event organized by Garmin, which, in addition to promoting an active lifestyle, also supports a noble cause – Action Medical Research, a charity funding research into children’s health. This year’s event took place on May 31st and, as always, attracted many cycling enthusiasts.
Participants took on a scenic 50-mile route (around 80 kilometers), leading through one of the most beautiful areas in southern England – New Forest National Park. The start and finish were located at Moyles Court School, from where the peloton set off toward Ringwood and then headed east into the heart of the park’s northern section. The route was captivating not only because of its diversity but also due to its breathtaking landscapes. Riding through wild nature, surrounded by views of horses, ponies, and even peacefully grazing cows, was an unforgettable experience – a true delight for nature lovers.
After completing the ride, participants could unwind in a specially arranged relaxation zone – a kind of cycling village where people could rest, exchange impressions, enjoy some delicious food, and simply spend quality time in the company of others who share the same passion.
Of course, we were there too! As always, United Eagles team gathered from all over England. Paweł and Kasia came all the way from Birmingham, Izabela from Portsmouth, Daniel from Southampton, Tomek Sobkowiak from Eastleigh, and Tomek Kapusta from Basingstoke. Other fellow Poles joined us as well – our clubmate Artur, and also Łukasz, Dawid, and Mariusz who live down South too.
Right from the start, our signature red outfits turned heads – and along the route, we often heard words of admiration for the style and grace with which our group rode. The “Orzełki” once again proved that riding together means not just greater safety and better pacing, but also tons of fun and mutual support. Nothing motivates more than knowing there’s a helping hand right next to you – ready to shelter you from the headwind, pass a bottle, offer encouragement, or simply crack a joke when your legs start to give out 😉
To sum up – the event was an absolute success! The weather was perfect, the mood was fantastic, and everyone came back tired but happy, with heads full of memories and smiles on their faces. We can only hope there will be more rides like this in the future – because it’s absolutely worth it!
