Club Challenge Results for 2025

In 2025, we organized several challenges at the United Eagles club. The goals were to have fun together and also to encourage each other to achieve their goals. We adopted Strava as our primary platform, although since Darek Krawczuk didn’t have an account there, we ran parallel challenges on Garmin Connect and compared Darek’s results with those from Strava.

The most important thing comes first – The biggest UECT passionate cyclist. The total distance covered was calculated based on all kilometres ridden, whether outdoors or on the trainer. While the competition was still fierce at the halfway point, the differences were quite clear at the end. Seweryn wins with a score of over 18,000 km, which is almost 350 km per week! Marcin is behind him with a score of over 15,000 km, and Kasia showed that women can ride with iron consistency, rounding out the tally. Additionally, Dariusz Krawczuk clocked 5,072 km according to Garmin Connect, which would give him 20th place 😉 The challenge participants spinned a total of 224,623 kilometers in 8,474 hours!

Let’s move on to those who prefer to ride outdoors. Unfortunately, during indoor cycling training—for example, training on a trainer using only the computer, whether on Garmin or Wahoo—Strava counted rides towards this challenge. So, I had to calculate the rides done this way for myself, Przemek, and Kasia, and subtract them from the total. However, I covered the vast majority of kilometers outdoors, and that’s how I managed to win this classification. Marcin again took second place, and Seweryn third. Despite spending countless hours on Zwift, it’s clear that pedaling outdoors is just as close to his heart.

Flat terrain isn’t for me – another challenge favored those who prefer summiting peaks over viaducts 😉 After second places in previous challenges, Marcin clearly won. Whether the Newcastle area is so mountainous, or perhaps Marcin chose mainly the more difficult routes, is probably best for him to answer. Seweryn took a strong second place, and Tomasz Kleban, who also has a strong taste for mountain routes, rounded out the podium :). The challenge participants collectively covered 223,916 km of elevation gain this year!

In the case of our Ultra Marathoners, it seemed that after our four gladiators rode the Spirit of the Forest, the standings wouldn’t change much. The men ensured that the winner remained uncertain until the very end. Piotr MikoÅ‚ajczak and Seweryn CieÅ›lik responded to the incredible 600 km of the race with an even longer route, exploring all of Norfolk along the way. In any case, both races had over 24 hours in the saddle, and the top five had distances of over 500 km. Big applause.

It’s time for our non-cycling challenges. When it comes to running, there’s a theory that cyclists shouldn’t shy away from running. Darek Krawczuk doesn’t have Strava, but Garmin shows that his 1,804 km run in 2025 gave him a decisive first place. Izabela Smolna also achieved an incredible result, running over 1,000 km, giving her second place. Piotr Meller rounded out the podium. In other words, our club triathletes left no doubt. All club members ran a combined 6,606 km in 2025!

When it came to swimming, our triathletes also did not disappoint. Darek swam 215km, Iza a little less at 144km, and a “distracted” Piotr rounded out the podium with a 59km swim. The total distance covered by club members was 517km.

Congratulations to all club members. We hope this provided additional motivation for you. And 2026 will see us improve our results even further.
