WANT TO RIDE WITH US?
Guest riders are welcome to ride with us for a couple rides. They should make themselves known to one of the club ‘officers’ at the start of a ride.
To continue riding with United Eagles, we ask that you become a member of the club and agree to support the ethos and principles of the club. These can be found in our constitution and newsletters but are summarised on this page.
AIMS AND ETHOS:
- To offer organised rides, activities, coaching and competitive opportunities in cycling
- To promote the club within the local community and cycling
- To ensure a duty of care to all members of the club
- To provide all its services in a way that is fair to everyone
UECT PRINCIPLES:
We aim to be friendly, supportive, inclusive and safe.
We are proactive in asking that members consider the welfare of others and do nothing that may upset others, e.g. offensive or rude language/gestures, inconsiderate riding, bringing the group into disrepute in the eyes of the general public. Sometimes these things happen unintentionally, and UECT members are expected to resolve any upset caused tactfully.
In addition, we will not engage with Road Rage or aggravate it. E.g., where a driver is inconsiderate or aggressive, we will take actions to let them past rather safely than stick rigidly to our rights. Where a driver has acted in a threatening or dangerous manner, and we have evidence/witnesses, it can be reported to the Police. We will not engage in arguments or retaliation.
