2024 was a year of intense work, commitment and many achievements for the United Eagles Cycling Team, which strengthened our position in the world of cycling and integrated our community.
Communication and integration
To meet the challenges resulting from the dispersion of club members throughout the UK, we regularly organized online meetings via the Teams platform. Thanks to this, we were able to discuss both key organizational issues and build social relationships, despite the physical distance.
Additionally, we launched a club channel on WhatsApp and dedicated thematic groups, which improved communication and allowed for the ongoing sharing of information and ideas.
Participation in charity initiatives
Our commitment to charity activities was visible during our participation in the WOŚP charity ride in London, organized by our friends from PGR, where we also donated club gadgets for auction. We co-organized the “Heart for Flood Victims” campaign, showing that values such as help and solidarity are close to us.
New initiatives and projects
This year we changed the company that produces our cycling clothing, establishing cooperation with the Polish company Raso, which strengthened our visual identity and sense of unity. We also created club stickers and 750 ml bottles, which were very popular among members.
We launched a new website with an extensive blog, where we regularly publish reports from events we took part in. The website also contains information about our team, an events calendar, membership details and contact details.
Events and meetings
We organised a number of events that will remain in our memories for a long time:
• Ultra London to Amsterdam Expedition: an impressive cycling journey of our members, covering 568 km through picturesque landscapes and charming towns.
• Coast to Coast: another challenge for our bravest members, consisting of cycling from one coast of the UK to the other.
• RAFA Rides – Kendrew Barracks: our members and PGR took part in this prestigious event organised by the Royal Air Forces Association, which brings cyclists from all over the world together to support the RAF community.
• York Meet: our main cycling club event this year, taking in a scenic 126km route through historic Yorkshire sites such as Kirkham Abbey, Castle Howard and the challenging White Horse Bank climb.
• Grill at Rysiek’s: a social event combined with a joint training session, during which we presented awards for “Personality of the Year” in eight categories, recognising the contribution and commitment of our members to the development of the club.
• 5th Anniversary Celebration: a celebration held just two weeks ago at the Polish restaurant Paleta, with lavishly laid tables, dancing, singing, souvenir cups and a beautiful and delicious cake.
Creative initiatives
During the festive period, our riders created a “Merry Christmas” sign in London using a pre-determined GPS route, combining their passion for cycling with creativity.
We also ran a Christmas competition with prizes for our fans, engaging the community and promoting the activity.
Social media activity
We ran a variety of social media campaigns, including interviews with riders, promoting the club on Facebook, working with radio and the British Poles portal. We regularly published cycling “Today Reminders” and the Velominati cycling rules, educating and inspiring our followers.
We would like to thank all the members and supporters of the United Eagles Cycling Team for a year full of challenges, successes and unforgettable moments. We look forward to more adventures and achievements in the coming year!
