Twenty members of our club came to this year’s convention, which took place near Stoke-On-Trent. We met at the parking lot at Park Hall Country Park, where our entire team had gathered. Some drove several hours, traveling from London, Newcastle, Portsmouth or Birmingham. This is how it is in our club, because we are scattered all over the UK. However, it shows how devoted we are to cycling and how important it is in our lives.
The plan was to ride a route of over 140 km and almost 1500 m vertically, which is quite a demanding distance. As always, riding in such a team is a pleasure. On the route, we not only had the opportunity to ride calmly in zone 2, where we could talk and exchange experiences, we have also rode several flat and fast sections with “through and off” but we also had the opportunity to fight on a few climbs.
Halfway through the route, we had a reservation at a pub for the entire team to eat, rest, talk and laugh. This is what makes such meetings unique. On the route we also stopped at the RAF Museum in Cosford, where we took a group photo with one of the fighters in the background.
At the end, the president and one of our talented colleagues prepared a surprise in the form of prizes and gifts for participation in the Zwift club championships, which were distributed in the parking lot. Then, those who could, went to an Italian restaurant to enjoy delicious pizza and cold beer! After all, when you burn a few thousand kcal, you can definitely afford such pleasures!
