Ironman Vitoria-Gasteiz – Piotr Meller podejmuje wyzwanie!
Ironman Vitoria-Gasteiz
Sunday, 14th July 2024
This Sunday, July 14th, our club triathlete Piotr Meller will be at the starting line of Ironman 140.6 in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. For those who don’t know, Ironman is one of the toughest one-day endurance races in the world, consisting of a 3.8 km swim, a 180 km bike ride, and a 42.2 km run (a full marathon).
Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of the Basque Country, is a charming city surrounded by green hills, which will provide a scenic yet challenging bike course. The weather forecast predicts a sunny day with temperatures reaching 28°C, which will further increase the difficulty level.
Piotr has been preparing for this challenge since the end of January, combining intensive swimming, cycling, and running training sessions. His form is promising, as he demonstrated with a great bike endurance during our club ride in York. Piotr’s goal is to complete the Ironman in under 12 hours.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Piotr and wish him the best of luck in this extraordinary challenge! Follow his social media channels, and track him on Ironman APP following below links.
