This Saturday, June 29th, we will embark on our annual rally, covering a scenic 126 km route through the heart of Yorkshire. The start and finish are planned at York Railway Station (YO24 1AB), and the route will take us through historic sites such as the majestic Kirkham Abbey, the impressive Castle Howard, and the medieval Helmsley Castle.
We will have the opportunity to admire breathtaking views of the area, including from Murton Bank, and also tackle the challenging White Horse Bank climb, which is featured on Simon Warren’s “100 Greatest Cycling Climbs” list. Our route includes a descent from White Horse Bank, but those who are keen will have the opportunity to climb it while the rest of the group rests in the car park under the famous White Horse. Along the way, we have also planned breaks in charming locations such as The Vinehouse Cafe in Helmsley and The Dawnay Arms in Newton-on-Ouse.
The rally is open to all club members, former members, and anyone who would like to join our community. It’s a great opportunity to spend an active day among cycling enthusiasts, admiring the beauty of Yorkshire, and challenging ourselves.
